A New Tooth!

It's nice to know Carter has been grumpy and not sleeping well for a reason. Last Tuesday, he got his first tooth. I have been anxiously awaiting the second one, which I feel like is about to bust through his gums any second, but a week later, still has not. Until then, he continues to gnaw on everything like a little puppy.

Can you see it?

We also have started to occasionally offer solid foods. Carter isn't a big fan, and Bridger is very protective of what we feed him. When I feed him, Bridger will narrate Carter's facial expressions. "Yucky! No mommy! Yucky! All done, Mommy. All done." Then say in his ever so cute baby voice to Carter, "was it yummy?" Grab the spoon from me and shove it in Carter's face, "Come on Carter, open, open C-man, open, it's yummy, come on Carter, here Carter. Rice cereals? Come on, open!" I'm just glad I have a helper.

He did give up his chair very willingly.

He has wanted to be a big boy at the table for a long time.

This is Bridger at 6 months.

I just included this picture to show how much bigger (again) Carter is than Bridger at the same age.

Cowboy Tough

There comes a time in most every one's life when they say, "I can't do it." or "I won't do it."
I am still waiting for the day when Ben says those words.
As most of you know, when we moved here, Ben bought a bike. And, Ben has chosen to ride his bike to work. Everyday.

So during these winter months when it is incredibly freezing, nose-hair-freezing, why-do-we-live-here-freezing and all I do is complain about how cold it is here and how going outside is a rather unpleasant experience. (Although, I do it, almost everyday, which is a HUGE improvement from last winter.) And when the morning news is saying, "Stay at home if you can." or " the windchill is deadly this morning," Ben bundles himself in layer after layer and says,"I like the exercise, I like being outdoors. And besides, I pride myself on being Cowboy tough." We say goodbye and after promising me he will be careful and that he won't die, he braves the weather on his bike.
Maybe someday he will give in to my offer to take him to work, until then, he is getting creative in his winter wear.

The ski goggles are a new addition.
He was getting lashcicles and couldn't see to bike.

Departure.

His hands were the only thing that would get cold. He tried a billion different combos of layering various gloves and mittens without good results. (Dog sledding mittens were the next buy) Instead, being the innovative cowboy he is, he made himself mini rice bags and sewed them to his inner gloves. Yes, he microwaves them before he leaves.

It's cold. Very cold.

It has been my goal to embrace winter this year. This is what I am embracing:

WIND CHILL WARNING 6PM TONIGHT THROUGH NOON FRIDAY…

TODAY: SNOW ENDING, THEN BECOMING MOSTLY SUNNY AND COLD.

HIGH: 4

TONIGHT: CLEAR AND VERY COLD.LOW: -21 (WIND CHILLS -35 TO -45)

TOMORROW: SUNNY AND COLD. HIGH: -7

FRIDAY: MOSTLY SUNNY AND COLD. HIGH: 4

So, does anyone want to come and embrace it with us? The windchill's great! Don't worry, a warm front is coming in a few days, and it might reach 20.

These Days

The holidays are always a nice time to relax and enjoy the family. That is kinda what we have been doing amongst potty boot camp and teething. Ben has had time off and we have really enjoyed that. We are now trying to get back on schedule. Here is our photo diary of the last 2 weeks.

Carter usually looks like this-- something in the mouth. Maybe a tooth soon? As parents, I think it makes us feel better to blame his disposition on something.

HOCKEY!!

We decided to get into the local sports. Bridger loves the games, and chants along with the crowd. He thinks it is football though, and calls the ice skates "football skates." I think every game he sees he just assumes is football. I will let you guess what else we have been doing over the last 2 weeks that would give him that idea.

Bridger's Potty Chart
There have been great days.... and not so great days.
Keep it up, Bridger!
You're almost there!

Poor kid. Now that he doesn't wear a diaper,
his pants fall down even more than they did before.

New Years Eve Party Animals!!
We dropped the ball at 6:35 p.m.
Welcome to our life on Anthony Lane with 3 families of 2 toddlers each.
We had a great time. Thanks Gepners!

This is what I call the mommy full body workout.
