For Valentines Day, Mom and Dad gave Bridger this special bib. He's not really sure what it means, but he looks happy, right? Or is that a fake smile?

Who Says You Can't Snowboard in Madison?
This winter in Madison has been...hhmm... how to say it.... "very wintery" and has been a HUGE change for us after spending 3 years in Austin with 70 degree winters. There have been only a few days above freezing over the last 2 months and many days and nights well below zero. We have also been lucky enough to experience the "snowiest winter in Madison's history." Needless to say, we don't leave the house much because we are either snowed in, or it is recommended to only leave your house if absolutely necessary. By now, you are asking the same question we ask ourselves every day... "Why do you live there?!" When we have figured that out, we will let you know. Anyway, we decided to venture out of the house last weekend and we went to Madison's Winter Festival. It was fairly entertaining and we took pictures to show you. The festival was at the Capitol Square and they packed all the snow onto the sidewalk and had cross country skiers ski all around the capitol in a relay race. Our favorite part was the "snowboard hill" that was built with beams covered in plywood and then they tried to pack on snow to snowboard down. The "hill" was about 20 feet tall and took approximately 0.5 seconds to go down where there were some jumps like skateboarders have. After coming from Utah and seeing real professionals snowboarders and have actually snowboarded on real mountains, this was a big joke to us. But hey, all the Madisonions were impressed. So, who says you can't snowboard in Madison?

As you can see, the snow didn't stay on very well and it was scaped off for the first 5 feet. The snowboarders would shimmy down to where the snow started and then would stand up to go.

They had some snow sculptures to look at.. this is the little old woman's "shoe house."
Christmas in Wisconsin
Ben and Bridger with his new toys on Christmas morning.
Our first Christmas here in Madison was a very white one. We spent it with just our little family and was very low key and relaxing. We got the American Idol game the night before at a white elephant party and that is how we spent our afternoon while Bridger played with all his new boxes. We missed our families, but had a good time at home.
Bridger still really likes the boxes the best...who needs toys?!
