Spring Break and Easter

Besides going to the farm over spring break, we did  do some other things.

We had just finished reading the Book of Mormon together as a family for the first time. This was a big accomplishment for us and it took us a little over a year and a half. To celebrate, we went to the Church History Center in Salt Lake City, UT to a children's exhibit about the Book of Mormon. The boys had a lot of fun there.

Here they are at an interactive station where they could color, do puzzles etc

Here are Bridger and Carter with the replica of the golden plates.

Here is Carter fishing from Nephi's ship.

They also had some giant foam blocks to build towers,  a missionary home display and garden, music center and Latino dancing as shown here.

We also got a chance to celebrate Easter with the Johnson's.
It was a short visit yet really fun to see everyone.
All squeezed in for a picture

Growing up we had a tradition that we would hide bags of treats around the farm for all the cousins to find. We wanted to continue that and although
Aunt Val's house wasn't the farm, it had plenty of good hiding places for treat bags.

My Grandma Johnson would always make popcorn balls for the treat bags, which was always a favorite for everyone. Sissy is no exception.
She would NOT let anyone take this sugary sticky ball away!

The following weekend, real Easter weekend, Ben's sister, Juli and her family came to visit. What a treat for us to see family two weekends in a row!
We had a great time playing with them and celebrating Easter another few times. Her kids- she has SEVEN- played wonderful piano pieces and I felt like I was at a concert all weekend in my own home. She also has a boy, Levi, who is a cowboy and you can imagine how most of the weekend time was spent playing. Oh, so much fun.

Here is Sissy in the car waiting for a hunt with her very own bucket...or hat.

She did really well and needing only a little coaxing

Goodness- another egg hunt at the house.

Kids got umbrellas

And, we are happy to have warmer weather so we can go outside and play!

Sissy loves her new swing- as demonstrated by the tongue- it's sure proof she is happy and we see that little tongue sticking out often these days.

I really like that Book of Mormon exhibit. We'll have to go see it sometime. I didn't realize at first that was YOU dancing in the latin dress-up. Are there any better copies of the All-Johnson picture that have Augie sitting up? Looks like your family is up to lots of fun. How is your backyard project coming? Miss you.
