Eden Baby Turns ONE

It is hard to believe that my little Baby Eden is all ready one year old. Time goes faster and faster with each child. Eden Baby has brought so much joy to our family. She is like a little ray of sunshine in our lives. Eden's Grandpa Tippets was nicknamed "Happy" as a baby because he was so happy all the time. This nickname would fit her well and maybe that is where she gets her cheerful disposition. She is loved by everyone at home, by friends and even strangers. So many people comment on her big grin and sparkling blue eyes and as of late, her crazy blonde hair. Everyone tell us that she is so beautiful and of course, we agree.
She recently hit the stage of stranger anxiety. She still smiles and flirts and will reach out for other people to hold her, but then changes her mind immediately when they take her and wants to be back with mom. Her favorite place is on my hip. She does love her family and will reach out to hold her siblings and Dad, and has learned to pat on the back when giving hugs.
She is quite vocal and squeals and screams just to express her enthusiasm. Many people from church already expect her to be a great soprano in choir someday.

Here are some pictures from the last six months or so.

Eden learned to crawl right before Thanksgiving. She prefers to crawl on her feet and hands rather than her knees except when she wants to get somewhere really fast.

Like all babies, the dishwasher is a hit and when she hears it open, she is there in a flash.  She LOVES to help unload and is very fast and throwing everything on the floor, picking up food that has fallen off the dishes and onto the door to sample it--YUCK- and of course climbing onto the door to sit and smile.  I wish I had her enthusiasm for "doing" the dishes.

Even beautiful girls have bad hair days

She loves bathes and helps drain the water by throwing  it overboard onto the floor

Pretty lady -March 2014

December 2013
When left unattended, she loves to make a mess. One day when someone forgot to close the bathroom door, she went inside and one diaper at a time, emptied all the garbage into the toilet. Then she topped in off with some bath toys and a bottle of shampoo. She was quite pleased with her accomplishment with her little time in the bathroom.

Here she is in the boys room with the tissues.

And obviously we didn't learn our lesson, because here she is two days later, again in the boys room with the rest of the tissues she didn't get to the first day.

Eden is very flexible and absolutely loves her toes and feet. My hamstrings start to hurt just by looking at her when I find her sleeping like this:

When she is in her highchair, she likes her foot up right with her. She is the only baby I have had that has fallen out of this chair, I turned around for one second and she must have used her foot to push herself out the side and she fell right on her head. OUCH. Last week she was standing on top of her tray, cheering and squealing. We're gonna have to start using those buckles!

And I'm guessing she's gonna be a lefty.

Yep, Even in the car seat she likes her feet up. Sometimes both of them are up in the spread eagle pose.

At 11 months old, she finally got a tooth. Her favorite foods are: vanilla yogurt, frozen peas, cheerios and pasta.  She learned to throw tantrums and will roll on the floor and kick her feet and scream. It is still cute for now and she is easily distracted from them. This week her two top teeth are coming in and she is not happy about it.

March 6 2014- finally a tooth!!
Must have been a good dinner

At her one year check-up, she was 18 pounds, 4 ounces. and 27 inches long. She was sick that day and had an ear infection. That week all I did was hold her. She was so miserable and didn't want to eat or play. Poor girl.

This is Eden on her actual birthday. Maybe she knew that it would be spent in the car on a 12 hour drive to Washington and wasn't thrilled at the idea.
After she our vacation and her sickness, we finally got to celebrate her being ONE.
My cake decorating skills have declined- or maybe just my time to invest in making and decorating a cake. Lucky for me, my kids think I'm awesome and say I should be on the show Cake Boss. Oh they make my day with their hilarious comments!

Sissy was a good helper and wanted to be decorated too!

 BIRTHDAY GIRL!

Eden and her cake

Among her presents was this little rocking horse. I think shes been watching rodeo with Dad. She hopped on and lifted one hand in the air and started to rock.

Eden started to walk the week before her birthday but she would only do it if she was close to her destination..like less than 3 feet close. Then she was sick and I carried her for a week, so she regressed a little. Then one day, she just decided she was going to do it and she's never looked back!
Walking back and forth from her brothers. April 7 2014

Now she thinks she is SO big and  loves to climb onto everything.
Ta-Dah!

Oh how we love this little lady. She is such a delight!
Eden, Thanks for letting us celebrate YOU!
