Rodeo season has started. This year may be the best year yet.
It starts with Bridger mutton busting at the Eagle Rodeo.
He was very excited and had his rodeo bag packed 4 days before the rodeo. He borrowed a hockey helmet from the neighbors and planned to wear a life jacket under his clothes for padding for his ferocious ride.
We practiced a lot- Ben and I taking turns being the meanest sheep we could muster trying to give Bridger practice for every move a sheep could possibly do. Bridger talked about his plan of attack with anyone who cared to listen.
We got the tickets.
Bridger and I signed his entry form and paid the entry fee.
We had a good cowboy meal before hand of Barbeque pork sandwiches. Bridger said the dinner prayer and included," Please let me win the belt buckle tonight at the rodeo."
A good cowboy always prays before hand.
Finally ready to leave.
Bridger and Carter behind the chutes like the real cowboys waiting for the rodeo to start.
Carter saying,"No way!" to Mutton Busting-
His experience from Uncle Tom's farm must still be too fresh in his mind
He does loves sheep- behind the fence.
The moment finally arrived:
A big Hooray!
Bridger and Carter with the other participants all getting T-shirts
All of us
(when I look at this picture the song "One of these things are not like the other-One of these things just doesn't belong- " comes to my head. Ben says it past time that I get my own rodeo clothes. I'm working on it. kind of.)
Mom and Sis
This kid cracks me up. He had to climb over this fence instead of walk around like everyone is supposed to. You can see the edge of the panel on the right.
The whole gang (Tippets and Perrys) here to watch.
Sissy in her Cowgirl duds with Maeley.

Watching the rodeo
Bridger and Maeley doing their own tricks on the bleachers.
This year Ben is going to be on the medical crew for a few rodeos this summer. We have many on our calendar and Bridger says he is ready for more Mutton Busting at each one of them.
We are proud of our Little Buckaroo and his performance.
Even though he didn't win the belt buckle, Bridger had a great time!
